Grucci translations is a family-owned business, run by Beatriz, Agustina and Noela. Two generations of linguists: a mother and two daughters. We are translators and also have professional degrees in other subjects.

Beatriz Grucci

Biologist and ATA-certified translator

Beatriz is the mother of Agustina and Noela, holds a degree in biological sciences from the Faculty of Sciences (Universidad de la República, Uruguay), and she is certified by ATA (American Translators Association) to translate from English into Spanish. She began to do freelance translations in 1997, when online work was in its infancy. In addition to her university training in biological sciences, she has taken a large number of courses in translation, as well as attending seminars, training modules and workshops. Beatriz has been an ATA-certified English>Spanish translator since 2000 and she also introduced her daughters to freelance translation. She is highly experienced in scientific and medical translation. She is also the Spanish translator for the Finnish website NatureGate®. To continue perfecting her skills in her spare time she takes courses on translation, biological and environmental science and computer assisted tools

Agustina González Grucci

Lawyer and ATA-certified translator

Agustina, the oldest daughter, is an attorney who holds a Juris Doctor from the Universidad de la República (Uruguay), and a Master’s degree in German Law (Magister Legum) from the University of Augsburg, in Germany. She obtained her professional and academic degree with excellent qualifications. She is fluent in both English and German, and translates from both of these languages into Spanish. After being employed for five years as a research and project assistant at a German international organization, while working part-time as a translator, she resigned in order to work full-time as a freelance translator for the US and European markets. Given her training in law, she specializes in legal translation. She divides her time between both sides of the Atlantic, spending part of the year in Uruguay and the rest in Germany, and frequently attending courses on translation and IT tools. Noela González Grucci

Chemical Engineer and MA in translation

Noela, Beatriz’s youngest daughter, is a Chemical Engineer graduated from the Faculty of Engineering (Universidad de la República, Uruguay). She also holds a Master’s Degree in Specialized Translation from the Instituto Superior de Estudios Lingüísticos y Traducción, at Sevilla, Spain. During the last year of her studies in chemical engineering, she completed an internship in a pulp and paper factory. Afterwards, she worked for five years in a brewery at Montevideo, where she served as the Supervisor of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Maintenance Planner and Planned Maintenance Leader, among other functions. She currently works as a full-time freelance English into Spanish translator for the US and Latin American markets. She specializes in scientific and technical texts, such as technical brochures, manuals, instructional materials, technical datasheets, MSDS and documents related to the industry in general. Her main field of expertise (and her passion) is brewing, having participated in several courses and workshops abroad, as well as being herself an enthusiastic homebrewer. She also works with Beatriz in the translation, editing and proofreading of biological, environmental and social sciences texts. She is very skilled in information technology, and she adapts easily to any CAT and IT tools.
